Whilst Jordan, Joe and Faye worked on other aspects of our production I looked at the official 12 rating guidelines and incorporated it for our own short film, looking through each of the guidelines and checking if our film would contain any of the material suitable or not suitable for a 12/12A film.

After typing up in note form, I then attempted to mimic the same style of the BBFC site to make our own look the same as the professional standard.

To conclude, there was only minimal use of imitable behaviour, drug use (a cider can) and violence, making it acceptable to rate our film as a 12.

The risk assessment was a useful exercise, as a group we checked through any possible hazards or accidents that could occur when shooting our film. Although this was not perhaps the right thing to do, the risk assessment was completed after our filming, which is why Poole Salvation Army and other locations we decided to film at were included on the page, which were not originally planned.

This exercise is common and essential in the professional media industry, allowing us to see what control measures we could use to prevent possible accidents from occuring and prepare for them. This kind of practice was not included in our production last year so we had learnt a new and important aspect when filmmaking.
